These tracks were created during Term 1 2021 at Uplands (THE International School of Penang). Students began by investigating the role that songs play in our lives and later explored approaches to songwriting, This culminated in small group collaborations which had students actively engage with the craft and Art of songwriting from penning lyrics to working out chords, melodies, instrumentation and grooves and finally... recording, editing and producing using the cloud-based digital audio workstation, 'Soundtrap'.
All tracks were created and produced by the students!
Considering the term was predominantly online from the very beginning of the school year, the students really have embodied the Uplands school values, in particular, that of RESILIENCE, COLLABORATION, AND INTEGRITY!
It's wonderful to hear the diversity in styles and approaches to the songwriting process.
